Women's Sacred Medicine Retreat

An intimate ceremonial weekend for women to slow down, connect with the land, and enter into a conscious relationship with sacred medicine.

Held on twelve acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this camping retreat will weave together preparation, ceremony, sound, breathwork, creative practice, shared meals, time in nature, and integration.

October 9 - 11, 2026
Bedford, Virginia
Limited to six participants

This retreat welcomes women and nonbinary people who feel aligned with a women-centered ceremonial space.

Participation begins with a thoughtful application and private conversation. Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance or reserve a place in the retreat.

An Invitation to Unplug

This retreat is an opportunity to step away from the pace and noise of everyday life and spend a weekend close to the earth.

We’ll gather without the usual distractions, allowing time to move a little differently. There will be space to rest, listen, create, share meals, sit beside the fire, and simply be on the land.

Sleeping close to the earth is part of the ceremonial experience. It allows the relationship with the land to deepen slowly throughout the weekend—from arriving and setting up camp, to entering ceremony, to waking the following morning and beginning to integrate what has unfolded.

We’ll approach the sacrament in that same spirit of kinship—not as something to consume, but as a relationship entered with care, respect, and intention. The land, the medicine, and the circle of women will all become part of the container holding the experience.

The Weekend

Our time together begins before we arrive on the land and continues after we return home.

The retreat will include:

  • An online preparation and intention-setting gathering before the retreat, with a group integration gathering afterward

  • Friday arrival, camping setup, a shared meal, an opening circle, and evening practice.

  • A gentle Saturday morning activity

  • Sacred medicine ceremony held later Saturday

  • Creative practice woven through the weekend

  • Shared farm-to-table meals and time on the land

  • Sunday reflection, integration, and closing

The Rhythm of the Retreat

Before We Gather

We’ll meet online for a preparation and intention-setting circle. We’ll talk about preparing physically, emotionally, and spiritually; explore intentions and expectations; discuss dosage; review group agreements; and make space for questions.

Friday: Arriving on the Land

You’ll arrive Friday afternoon, set up camp, and begin settling in on the land. We’ll share a meal, gather in an opening circle, and begin creating the connection and shared intention that will hold us through the weekend.

Saturday: Ceremony

We’ll begin with a light breakfast and a gentle morning activity before preparing for ceremony later in the afternoon. Lunch will not be served before the ceremony; any individual health or dietary needs will be discussed in advance

The largest part of Saturday will be devoted to the ceremonial experience, with time afterward for rest, nourishment, and being gently tended.

Sunday: Integration and Closing

Sunday will offer time for nourishment, rest, reflection, creative practice, and connection. We’ll begin integrating what unfolded during the ceremony and close our circle before departing from the land.

After the Retreat

We’ll gather again online for a group integration circle—a space to reconnect, share what has continued to unfold, and explore how to carry the experience into daily life.

The Ceremonial Experience

The heart of our weekend will be a sacred medicine ceremony held with care, intention, and respect.

We’ll approach the sacrament through kinship—not simply as something to consume, but as a relationship entered with reverence, curiosity, and a willingness to listen.

Sound and prayer will be woven throughout the ceremony through singing, drumming, periods of quiet, and individual energetic support as called for.

Who Will Hold the Retreat

Kristin Jewell, retreat guide and ceremonialist
Brooke Harding, retreat support and creative practice guide

Kristin Jewell

For more than ten years, Kristin has led women’s circles and held space for personal and spiritual transformation. Her work is rooted in relationship—with the land, sacred medicine, sound, prayer, the body, and the unfolding wisdom of each person.

Her own relationship with sacred medicines spans more than a decade and has deeply shaped the care, reverence, and respect she brings to ceremonial work.

Kristin is an ordained minister, ceremonialist, herbalist, and sound and energy practitioner, with additional training in psilocybin facilitation and psychedelic support.

She will guide the preparation and integration gatherings and serve as the primary ceremonial facilitator while also sharing in the welcoming, meals, care, and everyday tending of the weekend.

Brooke Harding — Retreat Support & Creative Practice

Brooke will help tend the practical and relational rhythm of the weekend, offering warmth, comfort, and support with shared meals, camping needs, and the care of the group and land. Drawing from her background in art, she will also guide a creative practice woven through the retreat.

During the ceremony, Brooke will help tend to the needs of the group and the land, allowing Kristin to remain focused on holding the ceremonial space. Participants will have an opportunity to meet Brooke during the preparation gathering and reconnect with her during the integration gathering.

Sacrament and Church Membership

This retreat includes a psilocybin sacrament ceremony offered through the Spore Foundation. Participation is limited to approved church members, and membership must be completed before retreat registration can be confirmed.

The sacrament is gifted through the church; there is no charge for it. Payment to Heart Centered Herbals covers preparation, retreat facilitation and support, meals, camping on the land, activities, and integration.

How to Apply

Because this is an intimate ceremonial retreat, participation begins with an application and private conversation rather than immediate registration.

1. Apply and schedule a conversation

Share what is calling you to the retreat, along with relevant health, medication, and practical information. At the end of the application, you’ll schedule a private retreat conversation.

2. Connect privately with Kristin

We’ll talk about your intentions, answer questions, and feel into whether the retreat is an appropriate fit for both of us.

3. Complete the participant agreement and church membership

If you’re invited to continue, you’ll complete the Heart Centered Herbals participant agreement and apply for Spore Foundation membership. The church administration team will email the required membership forms and waivers.

Please complete these requirements within seven days of receiving your invitation. Church membership review may take three to seven days.

4. Submit payment and receive confirmation

Once your membership is approved, full payment is due within three days to reserve your place. Your registration is confirmed once all required forms are complete, membership has been approved, and payment has been received.

Application deadline: September 27, 2026

Applicants applying close to the deadline should be prepared to schedule their conversation and complete the remaining requirements promptly. Spaces are limited, and applications may close earlier if the retreat fills.

Completing an application and scheduling a conversation does not guarantee acceptance or reserve a place in the retreat.
